If you know Big Al, you know he’s a hard man to keep down, but getting hit by a car is definitely putting a hitch in his gittyup.

On Tuesday, October 14th, Alex took his Harley for a ride around the block to warm it up for an oil change. While riding west on W College, about 4 blocks from our house, a car in the eastbound lane took a left into the Safeway parking lot, cutting Alex off and sending him sailing.

He sustained multiple fractures to each his left elbow and right pelvis, resulting in two surgeries and significant mobility restrictions. He spent 1 week in the hospital and is currently in a skilled nursing facility, until eventually he will be able to go home with physical therapy visits and at-home-care.

Alex will be unable to work for several weeks, and of course medical bills and accessibility outfitting of our home are costs that will continue to add up.
