Help us bring papa home.

Created this gofundme on behalf of my cousin Chai Caparas:
On May 1st, 2020, 4 days after his 56th birthday, Papa suffered from a stroke. He suddenly couldn’t stand up and couldn’t speak clearly. The same thing happened to Mama, 10 years ago. The only thing that we want is to keep our father alive.
We rushed him to the nearest hospital, but they refused to admit my father (same with other hospitals) because “they do not have any available ICU”, they said. It was really hard and stressful.
Later on, we decided to take our father home because the longer we wait at the ER, the higher the chance that he will be exposed to COVID, and that’s the last thing that we would like to happen.
He was treated at our home, our family and some of our friends helped us with the finances. He was getting better, until one day, May 23rd, 2020. His oxygen level and blood pressure became alarmingly low. 82% and 80/60 respectively.
We then rushed him to the nearest hospital but AGAIN, They refused to accept Papa even tho he’s fighting for his life. We’ve decided to bring him to the nearest big hospital. At that time, the first thing on our mind is just to give the best treatment that my father could have. While searching for another hospital he had suffered from another stroke.
While at the hospital, he experienced a lot of things. He stayed at the ICU for a long time, transferred to a regular room and then had to go back to the ICU after some complications. He received a lot of treatments, he had coronary angiography, carotid angiography and carotid artery stenting.
We are still here at the hospital and He’s doing much better today, but we cannot bring him home because the hospital is requiring us to pay the FULL BILL AMOUNTING TO 2.5M PESOS ($50,000.00 in US dollars & currently still running since we are still here in the hospital) before they give my Papa a clearance to go home.
Unfortunately, our family couldn’t afford to pay the full amount and our worry is that it is getting higher day by day.
Mama and Papa haven’t seen each other for more than a month now because we cannot bring her to the hospital because she is considered high risk. Help us reunite our parents by donating.
Any amount will be a great help and our whole family will appreciate it. Please also include the speedy recovery of our Papa to your prayers.
Thank you and God bless us all!
