I can’t believe I am writing this. The update I never thought I would share - after many months of intensive chemo and radiation doctors have now stopped all treatments and have given Kathy weeks to live. While we are STILL believing and praying for a miracle the past few months have taken an absolute toll on this young family. Kathy’s husband and little son (5) need all your prayers and love and if you are in the position to give back, anything would be appreciated.

my name is Adele Naidoo and I am fundraising for my beautiful friend Kathy who was unexpectedly diagnosed with SCC cancer (Squamous cell carcinoma in Sinus - right maxillary) at the beginning of this year.

Firstly if you are here reading this I want to say THANK YOU for taking the time out of your day. Kathy is an early childhood educator at Nido Early School, a mother to 4 yr old Eli and wife to amazing husband Rod who has now taken leave of work indefinitely to be there for Kathy and care for Eli. This young family moved into their new home Feb 2024 and bought a new car last year. They were ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives - to take family trips, make memories as Eli started Kindy this year and planned for baby number two.

Unfortunately life had other plans and their world shattered late last year, Kathy experienced constant facial pain and numbness on the right side of her face, after many tests, blurred vision and scans it was confirmed that Kathy had SCC cancer.

This Jan, 2025 Kathy started three cycles of Chemo, unfortunately this didn’t work, her oncologist recommended another set of Chemo and immunotherapy which she started in March plus 35 rounds of radiation treatment that she is now half way through as of May 5th.

The diagnosis has taken a toll financially on this beautiful family who have remained positive for Eli and hold so much faith for recovery.

I have never met a harder working young family, everything they have achieved in life so far was done out of hard work and determination, with Rod often working multiple jobs prior to treatments to provide for his young family.

Any amount raised – big or small, will help with the financial hardship they have endured over the past few months. They have now put a hold on their mortgage and car repayments for the next three months and this fundraiser will help with their everyday needs.
