St Matthew's Church Blackmoor

As you can imagine, carrying out this kind of work on a Victorian church is not quick, easy or cheap. Work began in January 2020, and is likely to take around 20 weeks to complete. Estimates of cost are in the region of £160,000 plus VAT. A program of fundraising has been agreed, but will not be sufficient to cover the total cost. We have some savings which will be used, and grants are being applied for, but we need your help to make up the shortfall. If you could make a donation to help keep the church standing for future generations we would be most grateful, thank you.
You will find our stunning church building in the village of Blackmoor, Hampshire. It was designed by the Victorian Architect Alfred Waterhouse in the Victorian Gothic Style, and we are very proud of it. This majestic church is situated within the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty. The church is open every day for visitors and is an oasis of quiet and calm in a busy world.
St Matthew’s is a holy place serving the local community. It is not just a building, but a place where people of all ages come to worship and learn more about Jesus. The people of St Matthew’s are inclusive, friendly and welcoming.

Work began in January 2020, and continued during lockdown, taking almost six months to complete. The project cost almost £140,000, funded by grants and donations.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us, including a number of grants received.
