Last night at the bar I ran into this racist piece of shit. The moment I walked in, the first thing I hear him say is, “who let his Black ass in here?” I ignored him and kept it moving, hanging out with my friends, unbothered. But he didn’t stop he kept throwing comments about my skin color all night. I still brushed it off.
Later, across the bar, he yells at me to arm wrestle him. I flipped him off and went back to enjoying my evening. That must’ve struck a nerve because he stormed over and started calling me a nigger at the top of his lungs in front of everyone. I was ready to handle it right then, but people got in between us, so I let it go.
He and his buddy wouldn’t drop it, though. They kept the racial slurs going until the bartender finally had to kick them out and lock the door. She even told me to wait inside until they left. But instead of leaving, they called the bar owner to complain about being locked out, then started demanding that I come outside.
I wasn’t scared of a couple drunk white men, so I stepped outside. I saw them sitting by their truck to the left, but since my car was parked on the other side of the property, I turned right and walked away. Of course, they kept up with the slurs. When I got to my car, his friend walked up, called me “antique farm equipment,” and demanded I roll down my window. I told him to get lost. He realized I wasn’t coming out, so he said, “That’s alright, we’ll just follow you.”
When I tried to leave, he stood behind my car to block me. I shifted to drive to get around him, but he jumped on my hood as I pulled away. He told me to stop so he could get off, and when I did, he smashed my windshield to pieces. Furious, I called 911 so I’d have a report for my insurance.
While I was on the phone with dispatch, headlights came flying toward me. This coward rammed his truck straight into my car, head-on, and totaled it. Dazed from the crash, I realized they were both at my windows, smashing them out, and beating on me while I was still strapped in by my seatbelt. Instinct took over and I fought back as best I could from the driver’s seat.
Then I saw one pull out a gun and threaten to kill me. The only thing that stopped them was realizing I had 911 on the line. They jumped back into their truck and sped off.
