Help me get back on the road

Hi, my names Casey and I am completely mortified to have to do this, but it seems I cannot catch a break lately.

I’m a single mom of two who bought her first home in May and that’s when things started to unravel. There were many things wrong with the house that inspection didn’t find and I ended up having to put a lot of repairs and replacements into my credit cards. Then thanks to repeated covid scares at my daughters daycare I have been out of work for multiple weeks at a time. After already falling behind and blowing through my emergency funds trying to keep everything paid up while out of work disaster has struck again.

Yesterday I was in a wreck and my car is likely totaled. Thankfully both my daughter and I were able to walk away from the scene, me a little banged up, her completely unharmed. I was insured, please don’t think that I was that irresponsible, but my car (that I just paid off in April) was a 2009 and I won’t get much for it even once they process it which they said can take 45 days.

I cannot be without a car for 45 days. Public transportation isn’t an option to get from my home to work and I can only beg for rides for so long. I found a few vehicles that I could afford payments on if I only had the funds for the necessary down payment. I am not looking for something extravagant, I would like to buy well used but dependable. When the little bit from insurance comes in, eventually, I will use that to catch up on the daycare I will have to pay despite not even being able to get my daughter there and replace some of the income I will miss while trying to figure out how to get back on the road. I try to give when I can, and I know things are really tight for everyone right now, but anything at all would be so helpful and could get us back on the right path.
