Rebuilding my life.

Hello,

I’m Maximilian Koger and I never thought I’d be here asking for your help, but my current circumstances have been extremely difficult to cope with and I am trying to get more comfortable with asking for help. Especially since I so desperately need it currently.

Less than a month ago, I found out my partner of 2 years stole my identity and opened up a car loan under my name without my knowledge or consent. He had “purchased a car outright” for me since mine is currently in the shop being worked on. He lied to me about it being fully paid for. He then proceeded to let the loan go unpaid for several months, destroying my credit by over 200 points, putting me in to a “poor” credit score, leaving all of my options for loans and other credit cards extremely limited. The car was eventually repossessed while I was at work and he then doubled down on his lie, saying that it must have been stolen.

He also is responsible for 2 collections on my credit report for household bills he insisted on paying for and then didn’t.

I had no idea he used my name and credit for all of these expenses. I assumed it was just a random person who stole my identity, but after reporting it and not having it removed, I dug further into the auto loan. It was under my name, but I could only access it once I provided his old phone number. A huge piece of solid proof that he did this.

I used to have a credit score in the mid 700s with zero late payments and 1 or 2 credit checks and a 50% balance on my credit card. I now have four late payments, 13 credit checks, my credit card is maxed out, and my score is in the low 500s.

All of this at the hands of someone who claimed to love me for 2 years.

He has also defrauded several of his friends out of money in his past under the guise of investing in real estate flips. I found out recently he was arrested for identity theft in 2018. He got the charges lowered to two misdemeanors, but it was the same story. Stolen information to pay for things he couldn’t afford. He is a con artist.

I have already filed a police report and I am trying to get the derogatory marks removed from my credit report, but I haven’t had luck yet.

I am doing my very best working full time to save up enough money to get my own apartment and take care of my dog Winnie and cat Thalia, but as you can guess, I am very far behind financially.

I just want to get my credit back to at least a fair place, take care of my pets, and be able to have a place of my own and my car back.

Anything helps. Every single dollar is helpful and will be greatly appreciated. It will solely be spent on paying down my credit card to slowly fix my score, feeding my pets and paying for pet deposits at my eventual apartment, getting my car back, and putting a deposit down for an apartment.
