As you may know we are holding the Armidale Motor Show in June for Damien, Heidi Tyson & Rose, we have had alot of people ask how they can donate that cant make the Car show, so thats why we have chosen to have the Go Fund as a extra part of our fund rasing.

Please see below Tyson's story so far.

In late 2023, Tyson Hutton a vibrant and energetic 9 year old boy was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalopathy (MNGIE) Disease. MNGIE is a very rare, progressive, life-limiting multi system disorder that impacts Tyson in multiple ways including an inability to absorb sufficient nutrients resulting in an inability to gain weight. Tyson also experiences deteriorating muscle tone in his legs which requires the use of Ankle and Foot Orthotics (AFO) to reduce falls and injuries. The disease is progressive and Tyson will deteriorate further without treatment.

Due to the extremely limited research and expertise in successful treatments of MNGIE Tyson has already undergone extensive testing and required multiple trips to Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. International consultations have occurred with specialist doctors and the most appropriate treatment option for Tyson as determined by a team of specialist doctors is a Bone Marrow Transplant (Blood Transplant and Cell Therapy). Genetically Tyson’s younger sister, Rose has been tested as a suitable match and therefore bone marrow donor for Tyson. The risks of this treatment are significant and due to the extremely rare nature of this disease there is limited evidence to guide best practice for treatment. The treatment will likely occur within the next 4-6 months and will require the family to relocate to Sydney for approximately 12 months which will result in loss of income and significant financial pressure.

We are looking to ease the financial burden for Tyson’s parents, Damien and Heidi to allow them to focus on Tyson’s treatment and recovery while navigating extensive treatment schedules, travel and everyday life expenses to maintain their home and life in Armidale. Any donation or offer of support would be gratefully accepted.
