WE NEED TO CHANGE THE TRAJECTORY OF OUR NEWS....

I'm  Ryan Perez, Owner of Bow Tie Kreative and Executive Producer/Director of “The world's first living documentary”  and Founder of Hustle Zone TV, a black and Hispanic media outlet and micro-community,

The World’s First Living Documentary is a project that we have been working diligently on. Recent studies suggest that television viewers perceive the occupational roles and personality characteristics that African Americans portrayed on television as real or true to life. Latino portrayals in the media have had negative effects on the Latino community as well.

The film will be the world's first living documentary, a documentary that will be ongoing and will never end. Our aim is to sample as many members of both Black and Latino communities, to provide deeper insights to our viewers about the diversity within each culture, to eliminate the assumption that Blacks or Latinos are a monolith.

I will be working with and leading a team of creative, academic, and education specialists to produce a film that is mainly from Black and Latino communities, however, we will also work with people outside the community who have ties within cultures and subcultures we are representing. The documentary will create an unbiased collection of voices from each community showing how all cultures are connected together and yet are unique.

Please take a look at our trailer:

The film will be presented on our website hustlezone.com (still in progress) for a monthly subscription model (similar to Netflix). New episodes of the film will be added periodically throughout the lifetime of the company adding to the collective story.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS: Ryan Perez

RYAN PEREZ  BIO

He is a single father, a musician, and owner of a creative agency called Bow Tie Kreative, who started his early teenage years on the edge of society, which was how he saw his future until concerned community leaders and mentors entered into his life. Overnight, martial arts, entrepreneurialism, and music became the focus of his existence which opened up a new world of opportunities.

Ryan's life now encompassed a community, which embraced him as a youth and saw that he could make a difference. At the age of 22, Ryan received the Calgary Stampede Western Legacy Award for his commitment to western heritage and values that Southern Alberta is known for. He was a part of the first group to ever receive such a prestigious award.

The award was given to him for his active participation in the community, mentoring youth and women in need, teaching them how to find their voice, and channel their anger through martial arts and rap music.

Ryan, along with his mentors, sat on the Calgary Police Chief Advisory Committee advising how the organization could have a better relationship with Black youth. The group also worked on a gun amnesty campaign to encourage gang members to turn in their firearms and stop the bloodshed in the city of Calgary. Ryan was also involved with Global TV’s “Racism at the doors”, aiming to expose nightclubs that were discriminating against people of color. Ryan and his mentors advocated and fundraised on behalf of The Funk Brothers so that they could receive a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

In 2016, Ryan started Hustle Zone TV (HZTV)  an international ethnocultural media outlet, a living documentary, and micro-community that creates and curates content providing cultural insights about Black and Latino cultures around the world. Over the last few years, HZTV has accumulated 38000 followers collectively throughout various social media accounts. Black women make 68% of the demographics, Hustle Zone TV receives over 100’000 impressions weekly. The company also produces 8 series on Youtube.
