Husband, Veteran, and #1 Papa Who Needs Your Help

My mom and dad have been through absolute hell this year, and could really use some help.

It all started last June… my dad had a stroke and after a few months of therapy, we really thought the worst was behind us. Little did we know, it was only the beginning.

A few months after the stroke, my father fell and had a cerebral hemorrhage. After that, he fell again and broke two ribs. He stopped eating and I t became clear something else was wrong.

It wasn’t until December (and a massive 60 pound weight loss) that we learned that my father had end stage liver cirrhosis due to an undiagnosed autoimmune disease. It was devastating and it was something that no one had ever suspected. Literally within a few months, my father went from riding his Harley Davidson to being unable to sit up on his own. He’s only 71 years old, and he now cannot walk, sit up, stand… nothing.

While all this was happening, my mother was hit on her way home from school (she’s a teacher) and her car was totaled. The stress of that, her career, my dad’s deteriorating condition.. she developed shingles. On her face. Behind her eyes. In her ear and in her mouth. She was blind for two days.

Now, medical bills are piling up and even though my dad is a twenty plus year Air-Force veteran, with good insurance I might add, we are unable to make ends meet. He needs around the clock care, and that doesn’t come cheap (nearly five-thousand dollars a month). My mom is just a teacher… it’s just not enough. That doesn’t even include the hospital and rehab bills! That’s just the monthly bill!

So here I am, at one am in the morning, begging for some help. My mom and dad are good people. Really good people. They didn’t deserve this. So please, every little bit helps- even a repost on Facebook or any other social media platform. Anything. We would greatly appreciate your help.
