Husband Gone. Son Gone. Baby on the Way — Now Born Early and Fighting. Please Help Anasia Rebuild.
On August 3rd, a young mother’s life changed forever on the side of a Tennessee highway. On their way to church that Sunday morning, a loving husband, father, and preacher — Tavaran Ridley — pulled over with his family after their tire went flat. Just 12 minutes later, tragedy struck. A driver towing a trailer veered onto the shoulder and slammed into their vehicle. Tavaran and their 8-year-old son Deuce were killed instantly. Anasia, who was pregnant at the time, and their daughter Aamiyah were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Their little girl Zoe, by a miracle of God, walked away physically unharmed. Emotionally, this family will carry this trauma forever.
On October 26th, Anasia’s life took another turn. Due to pregnancy complications and concerns for the baby’s safety, she had to undergo an emergency C-section. Her son, baby Kingston, was born early at just four pounds and is now in the NICU, fighting to get stronger every day. He never had the chance to meet his father or big brother. He entered the world in the middle of heartbreak, but he is a fighter, just like his mom.
Since the accident, Anasia has been doing everything she can to keep her family together. She is now a widowed mother of three, recovering from surgery while grieving the loss of her husband and son, raising two daughters who are in therapy to process everything they’ve been through. Kingston is now home and growing stronger everyday; but the challenges of doing everything on her own have been really draining emotionally, financially and physically.
Before the accident, Tavaran was the sole provider for the family. He preached at churches including New Season Church in Nashville and also worked in hotel management. Since his passing, Anasia has been surviving off his final paycheck and what little savings they had left. She has been re-accepted into nursing school and hopes to start in January so she can build a future for her children, but right now survival is her focus.
Her family’s greatest needs right now include housing stability, childcare support, emotional and medical recovery needs, and baby essentials. Rent alone is $2,400 per month. She still needs a stroller and car seat for Kingston. She has been trying to keep up with therapy costs for her girls and basic bills like groceries, utilities, and her phone. The family’s needs are bigger than what one mother can carry alone, especially during a NICU stay.
Through everything, Anasia’s faith has remained strong. She said, “God kept me alive for a reason. My babies still need me.” Even in heartbreak, she continues to trust God. But even the strongest warriors need help.
We are raising funds to help Anasia and her children stay in their home, care for baby Kingston when he is released from the NICU, replace belongings lost in the accident, cover therapy and recovery expenses, and provide a foundation of stability as she heals and prepares to return to nursing school. This is not just a fundraiser — it is a lifeline.
If you feel led to help, please donate and share. No mother should have to bury her husband and child in the same week. No newborn should begin life in a NICU without the safety of a stable home to come home to. This family has lost so much — please help us make sure they do not lose anything more.
Every dollar matters. Every prayer matters. Every share matters. Thank you for surrounding this family with love.
