Hi everyone,
My name is Emily and one of my best friends, Rachael and her family have had their lives turned upside down over the past 12 months. Ray and Cheryl Borg, along with their daughters - Kylie, Amanda and Rachael have given me their permission to start this GoFund Me page. I hope to be able to raise money to assist the ongoing medical and treatment costs that the family will have.
Their story - Rachael’s family is one of the most beautiful families I have ever met. They are all such special people and are a very close family unit. As people, Ray and Cheryl would do anything for anyone and are so thoughtful and kind. They truely are the nicest people on the planet and do not deserve what they are going through....
In June 2017, Ray was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was given 11months to live with treatment. He has been responding really well to treatment and has exceeded all expectations. There is still a long, tough journey ahead for Ray, and true to his form, he is taking it in his stride.
Watching one parent go through cancer and fight it wholeheartedly is devastating enough, but in July this year, the Borg family got the heartbreaking news that their beloved Mum Cheryl, has a rare aggressive form of stomach cancer. Treatment options for her are unclear at this stage until more testing and results come back. As of today (6/08/2018) she too has been classed as stage 4 and if well enough, will undergo chemotherapy.
No one deserves this kind of bad luck with both parents being diagnosed with cancer. Obviously the whole family and all of our friends are completely devastated, but even with this amount of heartache, the Borg’s are ever so strong.
With the future path unclear, I thought it would be an idea to call on the community to help keep this family strong by hopefully relieving some financial pressure. Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated.
