To say that Kanen is indeed a super hero is an understatement...
Kanen is a 10 year old cancer survivor. He has been NED for 4 years. He kicked Ewing’s Sarcoma and now he will be fighting again.
Kanen’s new journey started just last week when he went to the Orthopedic doctor for a possible fractured tailbone. An MRI was ordered and it revealed what can only be described as a parent’s worst nightmare. A mass was found at the base of Kanen’s tailbone, in the sacrum sac and spinal fluid.
Kanen underwent a 6 hour surgery on Wednesday Dec. 6th And is currently at CHOP receiving the best care possible with family by his side through it all. He is in a lot of pain but doctors are managing to get him more comfortable.
A treatment plan will be made once it is determined what exactly Kanen is up against. This means multiple trips to and from CHOP once he is finally home with his brothers and sister.
For Kanen’s family, everyday life is still moving at a fast pace and not only are day to day bills adding up, but travel and hospital expenses are now also an added stress.
Many people have reached out to the Wear family asking how to help and with Christmas right around the corner, any small donation (or a gift card too!!) is a way to help Kanen and his family!
