Hurricanes & Hospice. Help Tori support her mom.

Hi friends!
Most of you know my mother is in hospice care in Florida and I’ve been going back and forth from my home in Georgia to her home in Florida since December; trying to get stuff done for her and act as her healthcare advocate and now more specifically as her guardian.
I accepted a job offer in June at Mission hospital in Asheville, NC and pushed my start date to August to be able to coordinate and be with my mom. Unfortunately, I have to work, so I moved to move up here to Asheville instead of pushing my start date again because I need money to take care of her affair as well as get our house ready to sell.
My wife Courtney stayed in Augusta to get our house ready to sell. We have made it work these past two months since I’ve been up here.
Then along came Helene and it’s made everything far too unmanageable financially for us. Hit by the same hurricane twice is not easy to deal with and we need some help.
I’m still on orientation and my dept is down to one team just doing elective procedures and since I’m not done with orientation I can’t work in my department. I also have no PTO yet, I’m that new here.
I’m picking up shifts in the Emergency room so I have a paycheck but I’m not sure how long that’s going to last, but you know me, I’ll help anyway I can and keep going til they tell me no.
Our house in Augusta was hit by the storm so we aren’t able to list it this week.
Courtney’s car was hit hard by a tree and is undrivable. Insurance will pay for a rental but the prices have been jacked up so they only cover a quarter of the cost. FEMA doesn’t cover car rentals or anything covered under insurance. We are lucky to still have roofs over both our heads.
I’m paying mom’s mortgage, her AC lease and other bills because all her SS money now goes to the nursing facility where she is living. I send her supplies and things she needs as well. I pay rent here in Asheville and our mortgage in Augusta. My ultimate goal is to get her house cleaned out and sold so she has something to live on and get her a medical transport up here to me in Asheville. That plan is a long way off now.
It’s been a hard year so far and we need help if you can manage a few bucks. The money will be used to get my mom things she needs, legal fees concerning her guardianship hearing and setting up a trust for her money from her home sale, any travel to Florida and expenses for that (food, gas etc), cleaning out and selling her house, keeping her house from going into foreclosure and from the AC unit in her house from being repossessed.
please help if you can.
much love to you all!
