Hurricane Harvey Beaumont

My name is Lori Lindsey and I grew up in Beaumont, Texas.  I have many relatives and close friends that live in Beaumont  area.  As Hurricane Harvey has surpassed all of the records for rainfall in the Houston area, it is now going to hit Beaumont / Port Arthur area with another landfall.  Beaumont / Port Arthur has experienced 12 inches more of rain today with winds and more rain to hit by morning.  Everyone we know will be dealing with this disaster.  Their homes are flooded, objects lost and will have to begin the very difficult clean up and rebuilding process.  We are wanting to raise money to send to our friends and family in Beaumont and surrounding areas to help rebuild their lives.  In addition, we will be collecting items that we can send down there once the rains stop to help people while they are in shelters and / or cleaning up their properties.  Every sheet of drywall, carpet, flooring, painting, drying out and wind damage will require money to fix.  After going through Hurricane Rita in 2005 and Ike in 2008, many people have rebuilt more than once.  Any amount will help.  We will direct the funds towards survival items and getting people back on their feet after a large wallop.  Many people will be out of work for a long time.  We will also be doing a fundraiser at The Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid in next couple of weeks.
