Hurricane Dorian's effects were felt throughout Hampton Roads on Friday September 6th. Especially on the 1300 block of Piccadilly Street in Norfolk. Around 8:30AM Tamika Proctor was at home sleeping in her bed with her daughter and cousin when a tree from the neighboring yard snapped in the wind and fell in the room they were in.
The falling tree crushed Tamika's wrist and fingers causing them to break. Thankfully, everyone else made it out with only scrapes and bruises. While Tamika and her family made it out with their lives, all of their belongings have been destroyed. The house is condemned and it will take at least 6 months to repair if the home is deemed salvageable. Moving forward Tamika will be virtually starting over new. My name is Ashleigh Gagnon and my boyfriend and I were in the opposite side of the duplex when the tree fell. I have created this fundraiser to help Tamika with her medical expenses and the expenses that come with starting over.
