I’m starting this GoFundMe to help my mom, Jennifer, recover after Hurricane Lowell severely damaged her home near Kilauea.

She lives in a yurt, and during the storm it was badly damaged and is currently unlivable. Much of what she owns was exposed to heavy rain and water damage. Right now, at 79 years old, she is staying in a camping tent and her Tesla while we figure out how to make her home safe and livable again.

Our goal is to raise enough to help repair the yurt, replace damaged essentials like bedding and other household items, properly dry and dehumidify the space, and have it inspected and treated for any mold or other damage caused by the storm.

My mom is retired and lives on a fixed income, so an unexpected loss like this is extremely difficult for her to absorb on her own.

Any amount would help us get her back into a safe, dry place to live. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to us.
