My name is Marianne Antes and as 
many of you are aware, my daughter Becky and son-in-law Henri were impacted by the flooding in Jacksonville NC this past week. Many have asked if there was anything you could do to help. This is absolutely the last thing that they ever expected to happen as they started their married lives together. They have been married less than two years and have been working hard to make their little house into a home. Hurricane Florence and it’s flash flooding destroyed the contents of their home leaving nothing but a heap of contaminated or destroyed personal possessions, clothing, electronics, household appliances, food, military gear as well as left Henri’s truck partially submerged in water which was declared a total loss. They never expected the water to make it to their front door but it did and it came so quickly that there was no time to safeguard their possessions.
Henri is in the Marines based out of Camp Lejeune, NC and their apartment is off base.  He just found a place to stay until he can secure new housing while my daughter is away at school in Indiana Pa. We are not the type of people to ask for help but as I said many have asked if they could help out in any way. Any funds that are raised would go towards helping them to replace the household items they had lost due to the flooding as well as assist them in trying to replace Henri's vehicle. He will be unable to drive himself to work on base and have to rely on others to drive him until he can get a new vehicle. My daughter Becky on behalf of herself and Henri, will be the only recipient of any funds as she plans on making a trip down to NC in the next two weeks to help Henri in finding a vehicle. The good news is Henri's enlistment in the Marines is up in January and he will be going back home to Pa to start a new life with my daughter.
