My name is Nejadeen , and I am reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. Hurricane Mellisa has devastated my home parish of St. Elizabeth, leaving behind destruction that words can only partly describe. Families have lost everything—homes, belongings, safety, and peace of mind. Many community members are now displaced, unsure of where to sleep, how to feed their children, or how to start again.

This disaster is personal for me. Among the many affected families, I, too, lost my childhood home—a place filled with memories, love, and years of history. Watching my community suffer such unimaginable loss has been heartbreaking, but it has also reminded me of the power of unity, kindness, and collective strength.

The people of St. Elizabeth are resilient, but right now, they need support to stand again.
