My name is Tammy-Lee, co-owner of a small group of cottages in magical deep Westend, Negril, . At the beginning of the month (October, 2025), I lost a dear friend and the other co-owner of our beloved cottages, Patti. Then, came Melissa. Our caretaker, Shakes, and I did everything we could to secure the cottages then took shelter at a neighbours during the storm. It didn't seem like it would ever end. Then, she was just....gone. But the devastation is indescribable . The cottages survived with minimal damage sustained. We lost a lost of our trees but they all fell AWAY from the cottages. I am sure Patti put a dome around them. That's my story and I am sticking to it!! The grounds are a mess and the trees took out all the power lines. There is work to be done, for sure. However, there are people in this community that I have grown to love that have lost everything. Can you imagine that? Losing EVERYTHING in a blink of an eye. These people took me under their wings (are still doing so) and even when they have nothing left to give, they still do. I know Patti is looking down on us, proud to be a part of this community, as am I. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise a little bit of money to help restore our cottages sooner than later. If I can afford to hire as many hands as I can, that will be much needed income for them. If visitors can come to stay with us, more income for the community again. I have currently run out of cash and there is 1 store in Negril that is using interac. So I am going there every couple of days and buying what I can to share out. The shelves are getting bare but I get what I can. I am not setting the bar too high as I know times are tough for everyone all around. I just cannot afford to keep up this pace alone. These funds will be used to bring the cottages back "up to speed" so to speak so that we can continue to accept visitors, which will bring much needed income to this community in the coming months. The balance will be used to assist with the "community cleanup" and help rebuild or even just feed those in need during this "disaster". I have never cried so much in my entire lifetime than I have this month. It has been an incredible experience . Through the crys, the smiles, the laughter and the all the tears, we are still here. Where there is life, there is hope and Jamaica "nah go nowhere". We are still here and looking forward to welcoming people back! Same island, same spot. LOVE & BLESSINGS.
