Hello everyone:
Hello everyone,
My name is Floyd Lofters, and I am fundraising on behalf of my sister, Carla Lofters, who lost her roof and much of her home during the devastating Hurricane Melissa that struck Jamaica.
We are deeply grateful that Carla was here in Canada when the storm hit, but the heartbreak came when she learned that two massive trees had crashed onto her home, one landing directly on the bedroom where she would have been sleeping. The roof was completely destroyed, and much of the structure beneath it sustained severe damage.
This home is not just a building; it represents years of hard work, sacrifice, and dreams. Now, what once provided safety and comfort stands exposed to the elements, filled with debris and uncertainty.
Like so many others in her community, Carla is facing a long wait before government assistance or supplies become available. We’re hoping to raise funds to secure materials for a temporary roof, clear the fallen trees, and start the rebuilding process as soon as possible.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help restore a sense of security and hope: one nail, one board, one prayer at a time.
On behalf of our entire family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, kindness, and generosity during this difficult season.
With gratitude and hope,
Floyd Lofters
(on behalf of the Lofters Family)
Best regards
