Hello everyone,

Help us restore hope to the people of rural communities in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, who were recently displaced and traumatized by the horrific Hurricane Melissa.

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, many families in Broadleaf and the surrounding areas—including Cheviot Hill and Berkshire Gardens (also known as Berkshirewood)—have lost homes, crops, and livelihoods. Homes have been torn apart, farms destroyed, and roads left impassable, leaving the community in desperate need of help.

Community members are without food, water, shelter, clothing, and other necessities. The current situation has affected everyone, leaving many children and their families without the necessities of life. Let's not forget the elderly who have, for many years, witnessed these disasters over and over again, and are retraumatized all over again. How difficult this must be for them to see again.

These rural communities are often overlooked. Many people are without a voice or someone who will advocate for them. Therefore, we have stepped in and are working diligently to provide urgent assistance to these people with love, care, and compassion.

We are community members and families from St. Elizabeth coming together to raise urgent relief funds to support those hardest hit by the storm. This effort is organized by the people, for the people — rooted in love, unity, and the Jamaican spirit of “Wi likkle but wi tallawah.”
