Hi, I’m Havalee Johnson. I’m a proud Jamaican-Canadian pharmacist, and like so many of you, my heart aches for the people of Jamaica right now.

On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa, one of the most devastating storms in the island’s history, tore through Jamaica with apocalyptic force.

It ravaged the southern and western parishes, leaving behind heartbreak, loss, and destruction that words can barely capture.

Homes were flattened.

Families were torn apart.

Hospitals and clinics destroyed.

Entire communities left without food, water, or shelter.

For many, life as they knew it… simply stopped.

Some families lost everything - their loved ones, their homes, their businesses, their hope.

Babies are left without formula and diapers.

Children are unable to attend school.

Many hardworking individuals lost their jobs, businesses and livelihood.

Elderly citizens can’t access their medication.

Even now, 70% of the island remains without electricity. Gas is scarce, and basic supplies are running out.

Jamaica’s tourism industry which is its economic lifeline has been brought to a complete halt.

I remember being in high school when Hurricane Ivan struck in 2004. It took months for water and electricity to return. It took years for our island to recover.

Just last year (2024), Tropical Storm Beryl battered those same regions that have now been hit again.

They hadn’t even finished rebuilding before Melissa came and took it all away.

My own family is safe and for that, I am grateful but there are thousands who are not. And today, they need more than our prayers.

They need our help.

They need our hands.

They need our hearts.

This campaign will provide emergency relief - food, clean water, clothing, sanitary and medical supplies directly to affected families.

When you give, you’re not just donating money…..

You’re helping a mother feed her child tonight.

You’re helping a student return to school.

You’re helping an elder receive their medication.

You’re helping Jamaica rise again.

Every dollar counts and funds raised will be distributed directly to community rebuilding initiatives in Western and Southern Jamaica as well as to Food For The Poor Jamaica - a non-profit organization that has supported Jamaicans for over 40 years.

Even $1 makes a huge difference.

Because when many hearts unite, even small actions create miracles.
