Hurricane Melissa Relief for Jamaican Families — Montego Bay, Westmoreland, St. Ann & Golden Grove.

Summary:
Our homeland of Jamaica has been devastated by Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 that has destroyed homes, uprooted families, and left many without basic necessities. We are raising funds to provide immediate relief and help rebuild in the hardest-hit communities where we have family and friends — Catherine Hall (Montego Bay), Westmoreland (Bath District & Bethel Town), and St. Ann (Golden Grove).

Who we are:
My name is Geisha Thompson Miller and my husband is Andrewroy Miller, and we are originally from Jamaica, now living and working in the U.S. Our family and friends in these parishes have been directly impacted — losing roofs, entire homes, personal belongings, and access to clean water and food. We are organizing this relief effort personally to ensure that help reaches the people who need it most.

What we’re doing:
All funds and donations will go directly toward:
• Emergency supplies (food, water, hygiene kits, tarps, clothing)
• Rebuilding materials for damaged homes and community spaces
• Assistance for the elderly and families with young children
• Transportation of relief supplies from the U.S. to Jamaica

How it works:
We will personally travel to Jamaica to:
1. Distribute donated goods and supplies.
2. Provide cash assistance and rebuilding materials to affected families.
3. Document and share updates (photos/videos) for transparency.

Why direct help matters:
Many smaller communities — especially in rural St. Ann and Westmoreland — do not receive immediate aid after disasters. By personally distributing items and coordinating with local contacts, we can ensure every dollar goes directly to rebuilding lives, not administration.

How you can help:
Your donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference:
• $25 — supplies for one family (food + hygiene)
• $50 — roofing materials for partial home repairs
• $100 — community water and cleaning resources
• $250 — full rebuilding support for one family

We’ll post photo and video updates as relief is distributed, so donors can see the impact directly.

Thank you for standing with Jamaica in this difficult time.
Together, we can help families in Montego Bay, Bath District, Bethel Town, and Golden Grove rebuild their homes and hope.
