Hurricane Melissa Relief — Cedar Springs & Surrounding Communities,
My name is Omar Marshall, and I was born and raised in Cedar Springs, Jamaica, along with the nearby countryside communities of Retirement, Maggotty, and Joint Wood. These are places filled with love, faith, and hardworking families — where neighbors are family and community means everything.
In 1998, I moved to Orlando, Florida for new opportunities. With dedication, sacrifice, and God’s blessing, I built my business, Peak Marble and Granite, in 2006. But no matter where life took me, Jamaica has always been home in my heart.
Why This Fundraiser
Recently, Hurricane Melissa caused serious damage in my home district. Many families are facing:
• Roof and home damage
• Flooding and loss of belongings
• Limited food and clean water access
• Disrupted roads and transportation
• Little outside help reaching the countryside
Rural communities like ours often receive assistance last — and right now, people need help urgently.
Who We Will Help
This relief effort will support:
• Families in Cedar Springs, Retirement, Maggoty & Joint Wood
• Retirement Primary School
• Jointwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church
These schools and churches are the heart of our community — they support families spiritually, emotionally, and in times of crisis.
How Funds Will Be Used
Your donation will go toward:
✅ Food & clean water
✅ Hygiene & medical supplies
✅ Tarps, roofing sheets, & building materials
✅ Support for elderly & vulnerable residents
✅ Emergency assistance for families who lost income
✅ Resources for local church & school relief efforts
Whenever possible, supplies will be purchased locally to also help support the community economy.
✈️ I Will Be Delivering Help Myself to personally deliver supplies and assist families in need. In addition to being there in person, we will also be shipping relief supplies to Jamaica so help continues beyond the trip.
This ensures ongoing support and allows us to send larger quantities of food, hygiene essentials, school supplies, and building materials.
I will be traveling home within the next 1–2 weeks to:
• Personally purchase & distribute supplies
• Assist with repairs & support families directly
• Provide updates, photos, and receipts for transparency
This is personal for me. These are my neighbors, my childhood teachers, my church family, and the community that raised me.
Thank You
Any support — prayer, donation, or sharing this fundraiser — means more than you know.
One love, one community, one Jamaica. We rise together.
Thank you & God bless.
