Devon Loves Jamaica, a Community Fundraiser for Hurricane Melissa Relief
We are the Devon-born, Jamaican-descended family of footballer Jack Leslie, launching this community fundraiser to support Jamaican families impacted by Hurricane Melissa, the most powerful storm ever recorded on the island (Category 5, October 2025).
Entire communities in Westmoreland, St. Elizabeth, St. James, Hanover, Manchester and surrounding rural areas have lost homes, farmland, livestock, infrastructure, and access to essentials. Many residents are now cut off, with limited electricity, water, and medical support.
This is a grassroots, transparent fundraiser created to help meet the most urgent needs:
Emergency food and clean drinking water
Temporary shelter and roof repairs
Medical supplies and hygiene essentials
Support for vulnerable families and older residents
Restoration of schools, community centres, and local infrastructure
We are in direct contact with families, friends, and community groups in Jamaica, and are working to partner with verified charities including the Jamaica government’s official support programme and trusted local NGOs.
All proceeds over £100 will be divided between these organisations to ensure funds reach those who need them most.
Thank you for supporting Jamaica during this incredibly difficult time.
