Hello my name is Brian a Jamaican that’s been in the UK for most of my life. With family in Jamaican. Myself and my wife Shelbey are raising funds for families in my home town in Jamaica. These funds will be used to provide aid to the local area in which my family lives.

As Jamaicans, it’s not unusual to experience hurricanes, and the residents of the country have had countless experiences with the natural disaster and rebuilding in its wake. I my self have lived through hurricane’s and experienced the damage it can cause but also experience the overwhelming togetherness and humanity that people show to each other.

Hurricane Melissa has devastated the island and has caused countless families to be displaced and without basic necessities. Unfortunately, one of the families is my own. My aunt is a single mom of 3, 1 son and twin girls. I have watched this woman raise all three kids by herself never asking for help but working her ass off to be able to provide for them. Her two girls are currently in university and it can only be imagined how difficult it is to provide 2 tuition for them in order to keep them in school. She is truly a remarkable woman. As such I know she will never ask, therefore, I am asking on her behalf.

If there is anything you can give to help us towards our goal, we sincerely appreciate it. All funds will go to assisting my aunt with the rebuild of her roof and several other damages around the property. As a family we aim to send as much aid as possible for the families in the local area and whatever extra we make here will also be donated to the other families.

Families in the area are without food, water and power, we want to do as much as we can to help.

Watching from a far as my family and other countrymen goes through this disaster has been difficult but nothing compared to what they had to experience. I am grateful that my family made it through safely, now we focus on the rebuild. I am all grateful for all the families who survived this hurricane and pray they are able to get back to normal as soon as possible.
