Hello everyone, my name is Haydeen. I am from the community of Spring Garden, Welcome Hall District in St. James, Jamaica. As you may have seen in the media, hurricane Melissa has completely decimated many sections of Western Jamaica. This has resulted in widespread devastation to many parts of my community. My dad, siblings, uncles and nieces and nephews have lost their homes, furniture, clothing and food due to heavy rains, strong winds and flooding. They have even lost their source of livelihood due to the destruction of crops and livestock, and this loss has had a significant impact on our mental health. I have decided to set up this GoFundMe to help my family bounce back from this unprecedented disaster. The funds received from this campaign will be used to purchase emergency supplies such as food, water, clothing, toiletries and building materials.
