My name is Troy “Lagabenz” Rhoden. Most people know me simply as Lagabenz. I am originally from Spanish Town, Jamaica, and I now live in Boston, Massachusetts.

I am raising funds to help rebuild my family home and our small community shop in Jamaica, both of which were severely damaged by Hurricane Melissa.

When the hurricane struck, it tore the entire roof off the shop, leaving everything inside exposed to rain and flooding. All of our items—food, supplies, equipment, furniture, and personal belongings—were completely destroyed.

This shop is more than a business. It has been our family’s only income for years and a place where neighbors, children, and elders come daily for essentials. With the roof gone and the inside ruined, the building is now unsafe, exposed, and unusable.

We are asking for help to rebuild the roof, repair the structure, and replace the items that were lost. Anything you can contribute—no matter how small—will help us take a step toward recovery and rebuilding our family’s livelihood.
