Foodscape Caribe Hurricane Maria

Hurricane Maria has devastated the island of Puerto Rico and our home is no exception.  Our 11 acre farm Rio Chiquito Orchard located in the North East Ecological Corridor is under a federal agricultural conservation plan and we intend to keep moving forward on its mission. For the last four years we have been working none stop and have hosted over 1,000 visitors at our farm. The damages are many. We lost most of our endemic vegetation and planted fruit trees, many mudslides affected the roads and nature trails, all of our green house and nursery area is gone—not to mention the lack of financial income and slow structural recuperation.

With the money we raise, we intend to: rebuild all of our greenhouse infrastructure, plant new trees and FOOD which is now more needed and scarce than ever, employ new farmers and local community members and continue our educational services.  Thank you for your interest and support.24687278_15081171440_r.jpeg
