Hurricane Laura relief for Megan Norris & Family

Many of you have heard of the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Laura. Laura was a category 4 hurricane that blew through Lake Charles, Louisiana last Wednesday night, destroying everything in its path. While my sister Megan Norris was working endless hours for the electric utility in attempt to keep electricity on for Lake Charles’ residents, her historic home was being torn apart by the hurricane. Megan is known for her bright spirit, strength, dedication, commitment, and her huge heart! She’s an avid Crossfitter and played soccer for McNeese State. She is dedicated to serving the community with her mechanical engineering background by providing power to the city of Lake Charles, a place she calls HOME.
Megan’s partner and fiancé, Suzanne Carlile is the owner and operator of Little Engines ABA Center in Lake Charles. Suzanne works one-on-one with children on the autism spectrum and other developmental delays. She provides personalized behavioral interventions using applied behavior analysis. In attention to the loss of revenue from Covid-19, Suzanne’s business is now damage from the storm. Aside from Suzanne’s two children, Little Engines ABA Center is Suzanne’s heart and soul! She was living her passion helping children become the best version of themselves.
Megan and Suzanne’s wedding date was scheduled for October 10, 2020. However, both their wedding dresses are unsalvageable from the hurricane, and their perfect wedding venue is demolished. While we are all very blessed for their health and safety, the financial burden is overwhelming and stressful. Megan is currently living at work while Suzanne and kids remain evacuated, as they have no home to return to. This is unacceptable. My plan is to raise money for them to purchase a pre-owned travel trailer to live in their driveway during home renovations, replace their wedding dresses, cover the rent of Little Engines ABA Center, and alleviate the out of pocket expenses on their home before insurance handles the rest. Please, let’s come together as a family, friend, and community to show our love and support of Megan and Suzanne as they rebuild their home and continue growing their careers and life together.
