Aloha!
We are the Mercado-Agpaoa ‘ohana from Wai’ōhinu. Like many families in the area, we sustained damages to our home and vehicles from Hurricane Lala. Although they are not as severe as others, this still hurts us mentally and financially.
Our downstairs rooms and garage were flooded and filled with mud. Our outside kitchen sink, smoke house, tools, and other belongings were washed out with the flood. Two refrigerators and freezers were damaged, two of our vehicles are a total loss, and we also have a ceiling leak. Living in Ka’u, having transportation is a necessity. Living in Hawai’i in itself is a hardship. These losses are an unexpected setback. Even with homeowners insurance, there are still out-of-pocket fees and deductibles that we were not prepared for.
Although these things can be restored or replaced, it’ll take money, hard work, and time. These donations will be used for urgent replacements and repairs! Any amount, share, and prayer means so much to me & my family. Thank you!
