Massive update:

After surveying the impact of the storms on their personal lives, we've been informed by Scarlet and Theo that they're not in need of a lot of funds, and at this moment it seems clear that they won't need to relocate.

As we mentioned in the initial description, they're committed to supporting their community and surrounding areas with any funds that they do receive.

Scarlet has told me: "We have so many people near us who have lost everything. We are mobilizing in support of those folks. They need medications, gasoline, food, water, shelter, evacuating, hotels, phone service, first aid and generators. We have close community affected in all these areas and will distribute funds directly. The city and state is basically doing nothing for some of the more rural communities that are just 5 minutes and community is mobilizing to rescue, etc."

The areas she's referring to are people of Hot Springs, Marshall, Barnardsville, and the River Arts District and West Asheville. These are places that have been majorly flattened.

So, two things:

1. If you donated to this fund already and it was a financial stretch for you that you wouldn't have made had you known that Theo and Scarlet weren't going to be the primary beneficiaries, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for a refund. They're very very simple for us to issue on this end, and we will do so with absolute gratitude to you for being real about what works for you.

2. If you are willing to spread the word about this fundraiser, it's a whole lot bigger than just two people now. Your funds will be going to support a community that's been devastated and which is feeling abandoned by their state government.

With love and in faith,

Iridaea
