Hurricane Idalia relief - Stacy and Pete Kutscher
Donation protected
Most of you don’t know my parents. They bought a property in northern Florida to retire with my grandma and grandpa.
My parents care for my grandma and grandpa. My grandpa has cancer and previously had to have one of his legs amputated, so my dad spent months building this house out to fit my grandpas disabilities.
They met paths with hurricane Idalia, only 20 miles from the eye. Unfortunately, they’ve suffered some major damages, and while luckily no one is hurt, a tree smashed through their house and tore up their entire property.
Currently they have 1 week of a hotel paid for and my mom has had to postpone starting her new job. They would stay with me but they need to stay close to take care of the farm animals.
Estimates to remove the tree have ranged from $4500-$6000. Repairs needed to the house are undetermined, but the kitchen is ruined.
The fencing around the property is damaged from other trees, so their 2 cows, 6 goats, chickens and turkeys are free to roam.
I’ll be going up there every weekend to help get things cleaned up, but something’s need to be handled by professionals.
My parents the asking for help, but any help would mean the world to my family.
Most important is getting housing to keep them all together, followed by tree removal so repairs can begin on the house.
