Hurricane Ida relief for Ascension Parish
Many of us have heard by now. On the 16th anniversary of Katrina, Hurricane Ida lashed through Louisiana with historical vigor. I'm raising money for Ascension Parish, an area of Louisiana that got directly hit by Hurricane Ida. Many properties were demolished in its wake. Power is still largely out. This money will go directly into the hands of residents of Ascension Parish. So, "How's ya mama an' them?" My immediate family has fortunately suffered no damage to their homes. My extended family and many of their friends/community members have. We are grateful for the lives that were spared. I will use my own money to help my community in Ascension once it is safe to travel again. Before moving to New Orleans for 3 years, I lived in Ascension Parish and learned so much about my ancestry. I feel it is a personal responsibility to support and bring attention to the people who belong to me, and I to them. Please give what you can and continue to support the Cajun Navy and Imagine Water Works in New Orleans. I love you Louisiane.
