Hello, and thanks so much if you choose to help my friend Brenda and her family living away from home because of HURRICANE IDA and all the devastation left in Louisiana. They evacuated to the nearest “safe” place in Texas but of course took only the essentials. Staying in a (not so friendly) hotel with Brenda and Pete are their kids, grandkids, other family members and all their pets. The cost will be well over $1000 by the end of the week.

They have not yet seen the damage done to their homes but are being told to not head back yet. The drinking water is unsafe and they’ll most likely be without electricity for over a month. Both Brenda and her sister being breast cancer survivors have weakened immune systems, so staying in shelters with the pandemic is not an option.

Away from home, hoping they still have homes, no work or pay, things are going to be rough for some time.
