Hurricane Ian Survivor Home,Vehicle, All was Lost

My name is Elizabeth & I lived & own a ranch home (now gone) the last 12 years on Ft Myers Beach, Fl. After riding out the incomprehensible category 5 hurricane Ian in a stilted home on Sanibel- I know I am one of the fortunate one’s to still be alive —& with my sweet dog, Remi by my side!

Devastatingly, my cat, Smittie, who I rescued 9 years ago as a kitten, did not make it. It is a harsh and tragic loss.

I have suffered unimaginable losses due to Hurricane Ian. Many of us have. My heart beats for our islands and it is the kind people that make it our special home.

My entire home and all its contents, family heirlooms, furniture, all my clothes, shoes, art, toiletries, Everything is washed out in the Gulf. I have but a duffle bag of muck & sand caked few changes of clothing & filthy sandals to my name. After breaking down multiple times, I have come to the realization that I must put my pride aside & ask for some help.

After exhausting the resources available to me- amazing kindness from caring strangers, generous giving & concerned friends, slow moving government agencies, greedy insurance co‘s, etc. & -Living thru and on after such apocalyptic times, post this Cat 5 Hurricane Ian, my Spirit has been pushed to its limit in ALL ways. I am one of many with the same story. My heart aches for all who have suffered from this tragedy. It makes me question everything in life.

I am homeless now and I am looking for anyone who knows or has a temporary longterm home in the Ft Myers/Naples area to rent or… if anyone is selling a car- i need to buy a car, too- so if u are thinking of turning your car in soon, please consider selling it to me.

I understand not everyone can or will help but i must ask. Please do not feel badly if you can’t financially~ your prayers, love, support & words are the thing helping me get thru this desperate time.
