Hurricane Ian relief 2022

My name is Jennifer and I am organizing this for my dear friend Sherry and her mom’s cattle ranch. We both live in the Sarasota Myakka area but her family’s place was devastated by hurricane Ian. This family has been ranchers in our community since 1903. Their ranch is run completely by Sherry’s 89 years young mother, Sherry, and her daughter Christy. They don’t have much but they have integrity and joy in the family heritage, cultivating the land, and feeding many by means of raising beef cattle. Sherry works so hard to not only care for the families ranch but also care for her 89 yo mom, whom still works the cattle as much as she can. This is a woman who feeds her animals before herself and gives more than she receives. My neighborhood was on evacuation orders due to flooding after Ian and despite the fact she had no roof on her house, the ranch in disarray, cattle missing, and flooding…Sherry and her mom were at my place rescuing my horses without hesitation. She has and continues to make sacrifices to care for her mom and the family ranch. They lost half the roof to their home and the barn. With all the rain from Hurricane Ian black mold has started to set in. They have so many trees down that has taken fencing down….it’s endless work for the 3 of them and they have been overwhelmed by the devastation of hurricane Ian. They are in immediate need as well as long term relief. Funds will be used For mold remediation ASAP and then home/ranch repairs and massive live oak removal so cattle and horses do not get injured. Anything would be helpful. Thank you.
