Hurricane Ian Help for Cape Coral, FL

Dear Friends, Family, and Neighbors:

I am asking for direct donations to help purchase much needed supplies for the people of Cape Coral, Fl.

As most of you are aware parts of Florida have been decimated by Hurricane Ian which made landfall as a Category 4 Hurricane with 140+ mph winds. Ft. Myers Beach and the surrounding communities were devastated and some areas like Ft. Myers Beach were completely destroyed.

Jen and I have property in the city of Cape Coral (across the river from Ft. Myers) and our community sustained a direct hit from the eye of the storm. We were fortunate to sustain minimal damage – but many others in the area were not so lucky. Most of the city of Cape Coral is without electricity or running water and more than likely it may take weeks if not months to restore these vital services.

Our hearts ache when looking at the damage as we have met and made friends with so many wonderful people in the area – and we want to help.

I am asking for donations to purchase supplies to deliver directly to the people of cape coral. My son, Carson, and I will be leaving Sunday with my trailer to drive down to the area to deliver donated supplies that have been donated from friends and neighbors. Once there, our plan is to travel wherever we need to and purchase more supplies and make multiple trips – and to help however we can. Everything is needed - bottled water, canned food, packaged food (granola bars, etc), batteries, empty gas cans, propane cylinders, diapers, baby wipes – everything is in short supply.

Fortunately we have a place to stay near Clearwater Beach while there, but we plan to make multiple trips from the Tampa area (with supplies purchased in the area) – and this is where you come in. All donations will go directly to purchasing additional supplies – I am donating our time and travel expenses. Everything will help. I will also keep track and update everyone on what we were able to provide to the community.
