Hurricane Ian: Help Beach Barber Shop Find a Home

Donation protected
My name is Beth Ross, and my friends and I set up this fundraiser to help reopen The Beach Barber Shop, which has operated on Fort Myers Beach since 1980 and was completely lost during Hurricane Ian. The Beach Barber Shop is owned and operated by a lifetime friend, Mary Kay Alspaugh, who worked as a barber in the shop for many years until she had the opportunity to meet a personal goal of becoming the owner in 2018. It has been repeatedly voted #1 Best of the Beach and favored by locals and vacationing visitors alike.
Losing the barber shop has wiped out more than one family’s livelihood, and as a self-employed business owner, it will impact her well into the future. While Mary Kay and staff struggle to rebuild and return to some normalcy, they are still supporting their devastated community by baking and serving coffee and homemade cinnamon buns to workers and displaced homeowners on Fort Myers Beach, trying to give them a taste of home and some hope that they aren’t alone. And, MaryKay has been very busy trying to find a new location near the beach to reopen this business as soon as possible, but she truly needs some help.
Your donations will go directly to the Beach Barber Shop and will be used to help secure a new location, barber chairs, tools, and equipment so they can deliver services to the Fort Myers Beach community again. We truly appreciate any help you can provide.
