My name is Marcee and I am setting up this fundraiser to help my close friend Emily and her family (Mike, Dylan, and Perry) who have gone through too much for someone to go through. Donate directly to her and her family who lost their home and belongings to flooding from Hurricane Ian. Your donation would be helping them survive the initial aftermath, clean up the mess, repair what can be saved, replace what can’t be saved. Specifically things like evacuation costs, drywall, mildew mitigation, cabinet replacements, gas. Emily and her family are part of the Iona community in Fort Myers. She has lived in Sanibel and Fort Myers her whole life and we’ve been friends since high school. Her family’s life has changed forever as they’ve lost almost everything to flood damage from Hurricane Ian. Her kids attended Sanibel Elementary, grade 2 and PreK, and have lost their school. They are both small business owners. They are fortunate to have access to an RV while they rebuild. They have no school or child care to help them get back to their work. Our friends have pulled together and they have received some clean up help. They have also given help back to their neighbors and community with yard clean up. Now people are returning to regular lives their help is leaving. With so much destruction there is still a long way to go. With so much unknown I decided to start this go fund me so Fort Myers doesn’t loose another resident that wants to stay and rebuild their lives and their hometown.
