Hi, I grew up on Sanibel Island in Florida, my close childhood friend and fellow resident of Sanibel, Kip Buntrock is known to many people who have visited or lived on Sanibel. After losing his mother to cancer, Kip had his battle with it. He beat it and then became an advocate for cancer awareness and fundraising for those with their battle

When hurricane Ian ravaged southwest Florida on September 27th, 2022, Kip remained on Sanibel to assist a restaurant owner in securing their business. After the Sanibel causeway was rendered unusable by Ian and destruction was widespread, Kip traversed the island by bicycle and assisted many stranded souls onto helicopters and boats to get to safety. After several days Kip himself left his beloved Sanibel exhausted and in need of food.

Kip lost everything: his car, home, and all his possessions.
