Hurricane help for James, Kat & their fur babies

Hi. My name is James and I am 27 and moved to Florida eight years ago to live with my dad who suffered from many medical issues. I started out on his couch and a year later fell in love with an amazing woman, Kathryn, and together as a team, we worked so hard and lived in a rental house for a few years until the owners decided to sell. From there we decided to tough it out in a trailer while we saved money for a down payment. It was a very tough 14 months crammed in with several fur babies but we made it work and were able to purchase a beautiful home last August. We also sacrificed to save to afford a beautiful fence so our dogs were able to run free. My dad was so proud of all our accomplishments but he sadly passed away last year but I am grateful for being able to spend the last few years being close to him. Kat and I continued to work hard and were enjoying life until Hurricane Ian destroyed our home and all our belongings. We were inside the house while the roof blew off and the ceiling collapsed around us. We were able to get all of our dogs and cats safely into our car and spent the next 6 terrifying hours as our car was battle-rammed by the storm. We are so thankful we all made it safely but now we are in the process of still surviving. It will be many many months until our house gets fixed which will be a huge undertaking since figuring out all the details is up to the homeowners. It will need to be completely rebuilt. We currently only have the clothing we are wearing as all our possessions were destroyed but just knowing there are caring people out there who are willing to help and offer their support keeps our spirits up and helps us to continue to find the courage to move forward and determine to figure out how to survive this disparaging time.
