Hurricane Helene Relief
Donation protected
To all of our family, friends, and any of my soul sisters and brothers.....
My sister and I came to Indian Rocks, Florida to prepare our Stepdad, Al, for his move from his apartment that he shared for 23 years with our recently deceased Mom (Eileen Colbourne) to his daughter’s home in Alabama. The plan was to leave yesterday for Alabama where Al would begin his new journey in life. As you know, Hurricane Helene barreled in yesterday and had a different plan.
It was a devastating, life threatening storm but we all survived…thanks to God and his greater plan for us all...but everything in Al’s life, along with many of my Mother’s and our belongings,
were lost. Many memories, clothes and furniture flooded in 6 feet of water with no insurance to help cover the cost of anything.
We were very grateful to have gotten to higher grounds at 12 am last night as we escaped through a window while water was pouring into the home and as my elderly stepdad was in his bed which was floating in the flooded apartment. We trenched through deep water to escape and get him out as everything was buried in our tracks.
It was one of the scariest encounters we had ever been through and we are all very grateful to be alive.
We are reaching out to any of our friends and family to help us out in any way to recover some of the costs for the losses.
We thank you for any kind of assistance
We are ever so grateful.
God Bless
