On April 30th, 2025, our sweet boy Harvey Cann—our “Hurricane Harvey”—was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just 4 years old.
Harvey had been his usual adventurous self—riding ATV 4-wheelers, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and swimming every chance he got—when, right after Easter, he suddenly became ill. At first, we thought it was a broken leg or a bad flu. Instead, a trip to the emergency room turned into every parent’s worst nightmare: cancer.
In the first two weeks of his diagnosis, Harvey endured multiple surgeries and 7 blood transfusions. Since then, he has bravely gone through more than a dozen spinal taps and countless rounds of chemotherapy. Through it all, Harvey has amazed us and his medical team with his courage—he’s known as the most chill kid in the clinic, never crying or flinching when it’s time to access his port, take medicine, or even head into surgery.
At home, he’s still our wild, funny, stubborn “Hurricane Harvey,” full of energy and spirit—exactly what he’ll need to keep fighting this disease until July 2028, when his treatment is expected to end.
We are reaching out to kind strangers, family, and friends for help supporting Harvey—not just in his treatment, but in keeping his joy and dreams alive along the way. Donations will help with:
- Continuing his Jiu Jitsu practice, which keeps him strong and brings him happiness.
- Helping Harvey chase his dream of seeing volcanoes in Hawaii and Iceland (“lava is real, Mom!”).
- Visiting the Toronto Zoo, where Harvey hopes to finally meet his favorite animal—his chosen spirit guide through this journey—the polar bear.
