Operation Hurricane Fiona Puppy and Momma Rescue

Hi, my name is Sharon and I’m fundraising for the transport of 1 hurricane puppy(6 have arrived to SPCA in Buffalo)and the Hurricane Momma from Puerto Rico to Buffalo, NY.

My friend Lydmia and her daughters were driving on the expressway in Puerto Rico when they saw a dog that was likely to be killed. They picked the dog up and soon she gave birth to seven puppies. There are so many homeless dogs in Puerto Rico and so few resources, there was no way to find homes for the puppies.

Lydmia reached out to me for help. She used to live in Buffalo and knows I am a dog lover. I contacted Maria Género of Channel 2 who expedited a feature on the puppies. The local SPCA, a no kill shelter, was willing to take them in and find them homes.

Lydmia got the pups shots, checked for parasites and obtained veterinary

clearance to fly. She purchased crates for the pups that were sent, but still needs to purchase crates for the last puppy, Momma and pay for transport to Buffalo.

Previous collected funds have been used up due to serious illness (puppy Chandler had parvo)requiring days of veterinary care, need to vet and transport Momma Roberta, and rising price of air transport.
