Hurricane Dorian relief fund for Maycock family
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Pedro Maycock Jr. and one of five children of Pedro and Vashti (d'Shan) Maycock. I am from the island of Abaco, however, I was able to avoid the hurricane by relocating temporarily to another island. My entire family was on the island of Abaco during the Hurricane and were trapped on the island 5 days after the storm.
On September 1st Hurricane Dorian made landfall on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama, completely ravishing them.
My family has lost everything due to the storm. Our home was destroyed by the fierce winds the category 5 hurricane barreled towards our island. With most of the roof being torn from the home, the interior has been devastated and now inhabitable like many homes on the island.
This hurricane has been a traumatic experience for many families. Victims of the storm lost possessions, important documents, and even family members. Gratefully, my family made it through the storm, but they slept on the floor of the bathroom and closets for three days. My brothers and cousin even slept outside under rain on soaked mattresses.
Right now my family has temporarily relocated to Florida, where we have some family who provide some assistance. However, as one would imagine, with limited income daily needs are more difficult to meet.
Donations will be used to alleviate the financial burden for my family as we try to rebuild our lives. The donations will be used for transportation, housing, meals, and other essentials.
Any amount is appreciated.
