I am Skipper Gentry originally from Morehead City, NC. Right now, I'm living here in the Bahamas where I am building a home and have Carolina Gentleman Sportfishing out of Andros, Bahamas. I have spent the past years all over the Bahamas and have built relationships with so many wonderful people and communities. The islands of the Bahamas are taking a huge hit from hurricane Dorian especially our neighbors in the Abaco Islands.
The islands of the Bahamas have been good to me since arriving here in 2011, and it's time to give back to the people. The areas that most tourist never see are the ones needed this aid the most. They are living in harsh conditions, but they still keep a smile in their faces and always welcoming you into their homes. Getting supplies to these people can take weeks from the US, and people will need everything as soon as possible after Dorian hits. We sought shelter in Nassau where there are plenty of supplies ready to purchase. We have a 60ft boat ready to go deliver these supplies as soon as it's safe to do so. We will be needing funds for supplies, such as food (non-perishable), charcoal, water, and fuel to take the boat up to the Abacos. Also, we will be able to take people in need to Nassau from Abacos where they can get the help they need. Fuel will be a huge expense as it will take droughts 250 gallons each way. I will personally be handling the funds which will be used to buy food, water, fuel, tarps, 1st aid kits, saws, etc. I will be taking them on my boat and possibly another boat that will assist me in delivering the products to Abaco in the coming days. Once we arrive and distribute them we will bring people requiring medical attention back to Nassau for help. I will be making these runs as long as the funds are available.
Any and all donations are appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!
