Hurricane Dorian Freeport Bahamas repairs
Donation protected

Hurricane Dorian came through The Bahamas as a category 5 hurricane with winds in excess of 185 mph. The damage has been catastrophic and the flooding on Grand Bahama was unimaginable. This storm has been one of the 3 strongest to hit in the Atlantic on land.
Kathryn Godet-Lockhart is the mother of four children and their sole supporter. Until 2016 the company that she worked for experienced financial difficulties closed their doors and went bankrupt. It took several months for her to find something new, but it ended up being just a temporary position. After being unemployed once again she ended up working part-time with a health insurance company. Barely making ends meet there were some things that we had to sacrifice on one of them being home insurance. Sunday September 1st 2019 we encountered hurricane Dorian one of the most devastating hurricanes in history. By the time Dorian passed The Bahamas we had utter destruction on 2 of our main islands. Abaco was first hit, followed by Grand Bahama which is where we reside. My mother being a proud person, I decided to launch a GoFundMe page on behalf of my mother and family to help with rebuilding our family home.
This campaign is to raise money to fix or atleast start to repair our family home. Waters were in excess of 8ft so the entire house has to be gutted and all roofs need to be changed. Pictures will continually be posted as updates of progress.
Any help no matter how small will be greatly appreciated and will go directly toward repairs. (Sheetrock, plywood, tarp, tar, screws and furniture etc. )
Mark Powell will be withdrawing the funds directly to his account in which he will purchase building supplies abroad(receipts will be posted) to send to the family in The Bahamas. Any additional funds will be transferred to Kathryn Powell herself(Transaction receipt will be posted).
