Hurricane damaged roof repair

Donation protected
My name is Randi and Jeannette is one of my best friends. She used to work with me for a couple of years in Washington State and she just recently moved to South Carolina. Jeannette was affected by Hurricane Helene, and we are asking help for funds to repair her roof. Jeannette is a widow and raised her five teenage children by herself. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met, one the fairest, and one of the most nonjudgmental caring persons a friend could ask for.

This is a picture of Jeannette (the gal with glasses) and I enjoying life.

Jeannette moved down to South Carolina to be closer to her grandchildren and recently bought her new home near them. It damaged her roof, and her insurance will only cover very little of the quote for a bonded contractor to repair it in her town. The quote was close to $14,000 and the insurance company only gave her $1,400. She asked FEMA to help cover the cost, and sadly, her roof is not emergent enough for the limited funds to be dispersed to repair her roof. She used most of her savings to purchase her home and does not have nearly enough to even think of seeing if a local contactor will do the repair.

Two of her sons are bonded contractors and have their own companies and are willing to come and repair her roof for cost, but she needs to buy their round-trip plane tickets (and cover all expenses). They are going to try to squeeze her repair in between their jobs and they have families and are unable to drop the funds. One of her sons lives in Hawaii, and one lives in Alaska. Between what the insurance gave her as a settlement and what she has in savings, she is not quite able to pay for the cost of the materials plus two round-trip tickets for her sons to be able to come fix her roof.

We are hoping that our friends, and their friends, and so on (the ripple effect), can help Jeannette get her roof fixed.

Thank you for reading out story and for helping us through these times of great need. Please share on any social platform as $1 is not much to one person so if 4000 people donate $1 that equals $4000. Which equals my friend Jeannette getting her roof repaired by her sons at cost, but this GoFundMe has to get to 4000 people and that ONLY can happen if people share this story on their social platforms. If you are unable to donate a share is worth just as much. Thank you.
